We are appointed to design the reconstruction of a barn in the grounds of a large detached house in Goldhanger, a village on the River Blackwater in coastal Essex.

As the building is Grade II listed and in the Goldhanger Conservation Area we have consulted very thoroughly with the local authority and conservation officer. This consultation ensured that we quickly secured planning permission for the complete reconstruction of the barn. This will ensure the new building is built to current standards, for comfort, energy efficiency and low maintenance.
The proposals include the creation of a family/games room, a home office and a home gym; these are all connected to the existing house and the newly landscaped garden via an oak framed covered terrace.
