Conversion of a group of period buildings on the Thames
We worked with the developer to plan the redevelopment of this group of period buildings located on an island in the River Thames, close to Maidenhead. The property includes a number of locally listed buildings. The property is within the Maidenhead Riverside Conservation Area.
The property included a 17th century mill, and mill cottages. The work retained the traditional vernacular style of white weatherboarding and black fenestration and clay roof tiles. The redevelopment converted a redundant hotel into 10-apartments planned to optimise this very special setting.
- Services: Design, and planning,
- Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
- What we love: As architects we are fortunate to work on some very special buildings in great locations. This project was one of those. The original buildings had a fascinating history, and setting.
